On November 14, MBA candidates with the London Business School took top honors in the 19th Annual Global Prize, an international strategy case competition sponsored by A.T. Kearney.
A.T. Kearney’s Global Prize Competition is a multi-phase event that gathers exceptional post-graduate candidates to participate in a simulated client challenge. The participants are charged to work together to develop the most innovative, actionable and strategic solutions that would provide value in a real world consulting engagement.
"Education is only the first step and our goal with this event is to provide business school students with practical hands-on experience that will inform how they view strategy as well as execution in client engagements,” said Babek Bafendeh, A.T. Kearney. “Through teamwork, case preparation and insights, into varying approaches, we are helping to build thoughtful leaders and diverse thinkers who will shape the global marketplace of the future.”
More than 120 teams from 13 business schools in North America and Europe participated in the firm’s annual competition. Teams were directed to follow a multi-phase approach to asses, analyze, and address the case situations.
A.T. Kearney consultants mentored the students, often simulating the client role. Students presented their final recommendations to senior leaders and subject matter experts at the firm who ultimately determined the winners of the competition.
This year’s winning team members are (1st year) students:
• Miguel Casares (1st Year)
• Candice Li (1st Year))
• Enrique De Diego (1st Year)
“The competition provided us with an amazing opportunity to meet people from A.T. Kearney and understand the firm’s unique strategy and execution focused approach to consulting,” the LBS team said. “More importantly, A.T. Kearney provided our team with a rare peek into the world of consulting that has changed the way we approach problem solving for the better.”
Winners were awarded various cash prizes at each stage of the competition.
