Factory of the Year
Successful companies do not fear comparison with the best. On the contrary, they use the comparison as an effective management tool. If you compare your company with the best companies within and outside your industry, you can better determine its competitive position and recognize strengths and weaknesses for implementing new goals.
The Factory of the Year/GEO is such a comparison. A.T. Kearney began this competition in 1992 with the financial newspaper Produktion. Since then, hundreds of companies throughout Germany and the EU have taken advantage of this independent and cross-industry benchmarking.
The aim of the competition is to identify excellence in manufacturing companies worldwide and reward them for their accomplishments. The evaluation model is based on a comprehensive and largely quantitative assessment of performance indicators: customer satisfaction, quality, economy, agility, innovation, and value creation.
The winners of the 2012 competition will be featured 18-19 February 2013 at the Factory of the Year Congress at Leipzig. These companies will discuss how their business managed the economic crisis, and as a result what changes they have implemented into their business model. See the 2012 winners.
