That Fake Could Be Genuine
The terms counterfeit, pirated, bogus, fake and knockoff are used interchangeably and generally refer to goods that are infringements of trademarks, patents or other proprietary know-how. They are clearly illegal in the eyes of most people because they seek to deceive the buyer and eat into the profits of the original manufacturer. Examples range from pharmaceutical drugs to Buick windshields, Intel computer chips and Bosch power drills.
