Banks in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries can breathe a little easier in the wake of the economic crisis, as timely actions by governments, central banks and individual banks softened the impact and ushered in a more rapid return to profitability. GCC banks must now focus on improving efficiencies and tackling their remaining challenges.
