Our capabilities
A.T. Kearney’s Transportation, Travel, and Infrastructure Practice is one of the largest and most globally integrated in the world. We work with leading companies in both the public and private sectors. What sets us apart and builds enduring relationships is our collaborative style of working alongside our clients to ensure results.
Because of our expertise in transportation, travel, and infrastructure, we are able to support companies as they innovate new concepts, streamline processes and their organizations, and coordinate with government agencies and other stakeholders to win new business, manage costs, and increase revenue.

A.T. Kearney was the first major consulting firm to establish a dedicated transportation practice. We bring deep experience in every mode: express/parcel/postal, rail, air cargo, sea/inland water cargo, road cargo, logistics, etc. We work with carriers as well as their customers, providing a unique perspective on shipper logistics, carrier strategy, and customer needs.

Within the travel industry, we work across a wide spectrum of companies: travel providers (air, rail, car rental/hire, cruise, etc.), hotel chains and intermediaries (tour operators, agencies – online and offline), and technology providers (e.g., GDS). We help travel companies realize tangible business results, often through innovative and enhanced customer experiences.

A.T. Kearney helps public and private sectors increase revenues and value in their infrastructure investments. We have extensive experience supporting public-private partnerships and asset effectiveness initiatives across all major global sectors – including airports, toll roads, ports and railroads – and at every stage of a transaction.
We provide tangible, value-added support in a wide range of areas, including operational transformations and financial assessments. On the sell side, we work with asset owners to support valuations, performing rigorous asset analyses. On the buy side, we work with acquirers to estimate the revenue potential of targeted assets, identify operational improvements and cost-reduction opportunities, and isolate key risks. Once the acquisition is finalized, we help leadership transform the operation and maximize earnings potential.
Our experience in the transportation, travel, and infrastructure industries covers a broad range of expertise, including:
- Strategy and organization – restructuring, strategic planning, portfolio rationalization, competitive analysis, post-merger integration, merger and acquisition support, sustainability
