Opportunities and challenges for the Indian power industry

The Indian power industry is in the midst of a fundamental shift. Transformation is underway because of several large public and private investments. The competition for energy resources is becoming more intense and opening the way for alternative fuels. And industry-wide improvements are needed for project and operational efficiency. To gain a better understanding of this transformation and the future of the power industry, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) asked A.T. Kearney to conduct an industry study and develop a detailed report. In particular, the CII wanted to understand the changing outlook of the Indian power sector and what it will take to win in the future power markets in India.
