Christian Hagen was interviewed by Bill Cullifer, of the World Organization of Webmasters (WOW), for Why IT Now to discuss the direction of IT innovation – game-shifting strategies, enabled by technology, that create a sustainable competitive advantage or significant cost reductions.
IT innovation is not the latest cutting-edge technology. It is how companies are using IT for breakthroughs in business performance: increasing competitiveness, improving market dynamics, repositioning the company against its competitors, or allowing entry into new markets.
The study shows that successful CIOs are much more than technologists – they must be business leaders who can articulate how new technologies can better position their company for competitive advantage. Additionally, today’s companies with a positive view of IT innovation have greater sales growth.
