Christian Callieri

Chris Callieri has over 10 years of experience assisting corporations and governments develop and implement cost reduction, growth, sustainability and competitiveness strategies in multiple countries. Chris is one of the leaders of our firm’s sustainability initiatives. Chris spent two years working at the Global Business Policy Council where he worked on risk management with the engineering & construction industry and developed some of our risk management intellectual capital. Since returning from the Council, Chris has focused on the consumer products industry, working on low cost country sourcing and procurement transformation.

Examples of direct client experience include:

  • Managed a global supply chain initiative for a Fortune 100 beauty and cosmetics company, with teams in Europe, Asia, Latin America and the US to achieve savings of more than $50 million
  • Developed and launched a turnaround plan to reduce operating costs by $40 million for a provider of HR Benefits Administration services, with actions including offshoring of call center and application development activities
  • Developed a plan to increase the ROMI of print advertising in Western Europe for a global CPG company; actions included the adoption of an electronic image library and restructuring relationship with advertising houses
  • Led a post-merger integration team for a major oil & gas company, tasked with rationalizing the use of environmental engineering suppliers and improving procurement practices -- recommendations generated over 15% savings
  • Team member in project to analyze global carbon footprint and develop a carbon-neutral strategy for a global service company
  • Led the marine resources and agriculture work streams in the development of a Regional Environmental Action Plan for the II Region of Antofagasta, Chile, where the objective was to incorporate the sustainable management of natural resources into that region’s economic development plans
  • Prepared a series of best practice case studies on Regional and Sectoral Environmental Assessments for the World Bank
  • Managed the assessment of financial, workforce, infrastructure, and sector-specific competitiveness of various emerging markets to assist in the development of a comprehensive global sourcing strategy for major consumer goods company
  • Conducted an assessment on behalf of the Chilean Economic Development Agency (CORFO) to understand the strengths and weaknesses of Chile as an offshoring hub and to recommend sectors for focus
  • Led a World Economic Forum industry task force comprised of several CEOs to develop a strategy for their industry to manage risk more effectively and reverse profit deterioration

Before joining A.T. Kearney, Chris worked for the Inter-American Development Bank where he was responsible for environmental and social due-diligence of infrastructure projects.

He has an M.B.A. from Cornell University, a Master of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge, and B.S. in biology from the University of St. Andrews.
