Augusto Morais
Augusto Morais has eighteen years of combined experience in industry (telecom, computer and semiconductor) and consulting (telecom and high tech). His consulting experience has involved carriers (nine telecommunications companies in three different countries), corporate customers (consumer and energy industry companies) and government.
Examples of direct client experience include:
- Managed several enterprise-wide cost transformation programs for carriers in North and Latin America; the scope of initiatives implemented
- Rationalization and reengineering of several G&A functions (real estate, fleet, supply chain, procurement, IT, legal and collections)
- Procurement/strategic sourcing of network services (engineering, construction, field services) and materials (customer premise equipment, core/transport, access, cable and minor/field materials) categories
- Transformation of the carrier/Interconnection functions and processes (order entry, provisioning, supplier management, invoice validation and billing)
- Transformation of the network operations function (offshoring, spans & layers, process improvement)
- Offshoring and outsourcing of backoffice/support functions (order entry, contract management, helpdesk) for enterprise segment and testing and activation functions for network segment
- Managed the assessment of opportunities to improve the demand supply network in Latin America for a leading wireless handset manufacturer
- Developed strategy for North American RBOC on how to respond to the portal threat to the telco legacy voice business as well as future telco growth business (IPTV)
- Managed the development of new product offerings for the SMB market for a global Telecom client
- Managed the product portfolio assessment for a global telecom client
- Managed the development and implementation of a service quality dashboard for a global telecom client
- Designed and implemented the redesign of the sales support backoffice for the enterprise segment of a Brazilian telecom incumbent
- Advised Fortune 500 companies (retail, oil & gas, utilities, financial institutions) for the selection of global voice/data services providers
Prior to joining the firm, Augusto worked for IBM in IT Consulting and Hardware Development.
Augusto has a M.B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and a B.S. degree in electronic engineering from Universidade de Campinas (UNICAMP).
