A.T. Kearney Hispanic Network Shines at NSHMBA’s National Conference
When the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) celebrated its 20th anniversary at its national conference from October 9-11, 2008 in Atlanta, Georgia, A.T. Kearney’s Hispanic Network was there!

NSHMBA offers an excellent platform for A.T. Kearney to develop recruiting relationships and to reinforce the firm’s role as a diversity leader in the consulting industry. During the two-day conference, A.T. Kearney consultants spoke with more than 900 aspiring summer and full-time hires. We look forward to welcoming several of these outstanding applicants into our Chicago, New York, and Mexico City offices during the summer of 2009.

In addition to introducing us to new colleagues, A.T. Kearney’s participation in the NSHMBA Conference showcased our company as a great place to work and provided a unique opportunity to strengthen ties within the Hispanic Consultants Network.

Paul Laudicina Leads Executive Roundtable Discussion
Expanding upon themes of diversity and globalization, the 2008 NSHMBA Conference included an Executive Roundtable panel discussion entitled “Thriving in a World of Continuous Change.” Paul Laudicina, A.T. Kearney’s CEO, was a key contributor to this conversation. In addition to Paul, the roundtable included senior executives from Burger King, Cox Communications, AT&T, and Home Depot.

Sustainability emerged as a core theme of the discussion, as panelists explored innovative strategies for turning resource efficiency into a competitive advantage. The conversation underscored A.T. Kearney’s ongoing efforts in the sustainability arena, including our pledge to become the first carbon-neutral consulting firm by 2010.

Intercultural Awareness Training Sharpens HCN Members’ “Cultural IQ”
Last October, members of the A.T. Kearney Hispanic Network participated in an Intercultural Awareness training led by Marvin Gottlieb. The interactive training session introduced “Cultural IQ” and “the Johari Window,” activities in which consultants role-played challenging scenarios that tested cultural awareness and management judgment. The session with Marvin also emphasized the importance of cultural awareness in building strong client relationships.
