David Hanfland
David Hanfland is a partner in A.T. Kearney, where he leads the Americas Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Practice. David has more than 20 years of business and operations strategy experience, serving clients in the pharmaceutical, distribution, consumer products, and business services industries globally.
He has worked on numerous projects, including the following:
- For a leading global pharmaceutical and medical equipment manufacturer, evaluated and developed a plan to address supply risks with a focus on supplier quality and the processes to validate and control quality of direct materials
- For a global manufacturer of medical devices, developed a strategy to double ROIC from 10% to 20% through improvements in both technical and commercial operations
- For a leading pharmaceutical and hospital products manufacturer, developed a global supply chain strategy, resulting in inventory reductions of over $100 million and cost reductions
- For a leading manufacturer of medical devices and generic pharmaceuticals, developed and helped the company to manage a global, merger integration program, which significantly exceeded synergy targets by 50%
David has authored a number of articles, including “How to Unlock $43 Billion in Value by Improving Working Capital Management” in PharmaPro and “Supply Quality: Today’s Pressing Priority” in Supply Chain Management Review.
Before joining A.T. Kearney, David was with Huron Consulting Group and Price Waterhouse. He earned an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business and a B.S. from Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
