Jonathan Anscombe

Jonathan Anscombe is a partner in A.T. Kearney, where he leads the United Kingdom Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Practice and co-leads the European Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Practice. His professional experience includes 9 years as a senior manager in industry, and 19 years in consulting, of which over 12 years have been spent working in the healthcare sector.

He has worked on numerous projects helping the U.K. National Health Service (NHS) improve delivery of care including:

  • The first use of re-engineering in the NHS at the Leicester Royal Infirmary
  • National initiatives to shift care from hospital to community care settings
  • Helping strategic health authorities and commissioners to improve quality and efficiency
  • Increasing chemotherapy capacity and improving cancer commissioning across the NHS
  • Work on a range of policy initiatives for the Department of Health including:
    • Commercial policy for introducing private sector providers to the NHS
    • Redesign of the NHS supply chain
    • Use of clinical evidence to support care delivery and reconfiguration decisions
    • Information strategy for Connecting for Health

Jonathan also works with a variety of private sector health providers, suppliers, and pharmaceutical companies, advising on a range of issues including interpretation of health policy, strategy, market access, and partnering.

Before joining A.T. Kearney, Jonathan worked for Kodak, Procter and Gamble, and H.J. Heinz.
