Jian Sun

Jian Sun is a partner in A. T. Kearney and the lead of its Asian automotive industry practice. Jian has more than 20 years of consulting and industry experience. He has served clients in automotive, consumer goods, food and beverage, and chemical industries, on various strategy and organizational restructuring projects.

His major specialties include: corporate and business strategy, branding strategy, international merger & acquisition (M&A), sales and marketing, sales force effectiveness improvement, organization restructuring, business process reengineering (BPR), and operation improvement.

Representative engagements include:

  • Helped one of the leading Chinese automotive OEMs to conduct pre-merger due diligence and to plan for post merger integration (PMI) in overseas markets
  • Developed a corporate growth strategy for a leading Chinese OEM
  • Developed market entry strategy for a global OEM in China
  • Designed corporate governance structure and management processes for a major Chinese construction equipment OEM
  • Helped one of the leading, global auto component suppliers to assess target market segments and potential M&A targets
  • Designed a multi-brand, service offering strategy for a major joint venture automotive OEM
  • Designed a brand portfolio strategy for a leading Chinese OEM
Before entering the consulting industry, Jian worked for Eastman Kodak, Xerox, and W. R. Grace in marketing, sales, and quality management positions. He also was an assistant professor at East China University of Science and Technology.

He earned his M.B.A. from the Simon School, University of Rochester, USA.
