Dan Cheng

Dan Cheng is an A.T. Kearney partner, the practice leader for the firm’s automotive and transportation practice in North America, and a lead for the global automotive team. He is based in the Southfield, Michigan office.

A.T. Kearney Report at Townsend
. Now in its 14th consecutive year, the A.T. Kearney Report at Townsend is the longest running annual strategic analysis of the automotive industry among all management consulting firms. The report, which combines automotive industry expertise, primary research, forward-looking analysis and the challenges facing the North American automotive industry – provides strategic insights for A.T. Kearney’s clients. The 2010 report provides insights into the “shape” of the coming automotive recovery, the connection between gasoline prices and small car demand, the stability of the supply base, strategies OEMs can use to meet 2016 CAFE requirements, and the cost advantages of using global platforms – now and in 2015.

Over the course of his 27-year career, Dan has spent the last 15 with A.T. Kearney, primarily focused on the automotive industry, serving both OEM and Tier 1 clients across a variety of areas. His primary areas of expertise include: market entry strategy development, order-to-cash improvement, compliance/risk management, organizational transformation, addressing profit “leakage” in the engineering change process, industry analysis and alternative powertrains.

Prior to A.T. Kearney, Dan worked for DRI/McGraw-Hill as principal, Information Management, where he designed and implemented customized information management systems for clients across a number of industries, including automotive, oil and gas, and financial institutions. Dan earned an MBA in Finance at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and an M.S. /B.S. in Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
