Joe Reifel, an A.T. Kearney partner, is the leader of the America's Financial Institutions Practice. He is based in the Chicago office and has more than 20 years of consulting experience, primarily with financial services clients in insurance and banking. He has worked with companies around the world, in Asia, Latin America, North America, and Europe. In addition, Joe leads the firm's Quality program for the Americas and is a member of the North American Investment Management Committee.
He has extensive experience leading assignments that create sustained value for his clients, from enhancing revenue growth and improving operational performance to reshaping their organizations.
Joe's recent client work includes:
- Assisting a major multi-line insurer through a substantial divestiture and business transformation to accelerate growth and achieve cost competitiveness
- Developing a customer-centric, multichannel strategy, and agency network, compensation and field sales organization improvement programs for a leading personal lines insurer
- Designing and launching an innovative consumer "usage-based" insurance offering for a major auto insurer
- Improving a United States.-based bank's efficiency ratio while reinforcing its growth aspirations
He is the author of numerous publications, including Winning the Insurance Battle, Telematics: The Game Changer, "Health Insurers: The Customer Engagement Imperative, and Technology: The Insurance Industry's Pivot Point.
Prior to joining A.T. Kearney, Joe was with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in Chicago for six years. He received a BS with honors in business from Indiana University at Bloomington and a MBA degree with high honors from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago.
